🌱 HOW TO USE MAP (Monoammonium phosphate) FERTILISER
- Please note that this is strong fertiliser and over-usage can casue problems for your plants.
Perfect for vegetables, flowers, fruit trees & seedlings
MAP (Monoammonium phosphate) is a high-phosphorus fertiliser, ideal for:
- Boosting root growth Improving flowering
- Strengthening young plants & transplants
- Correcting phosphorus deficiency
Because MAP is strong, you only need small amounts.
✅ GENERAL MIXING GUIDELINES
Please note that each soil and plant may require different dosage. Make sure to consult with a professional with regards to your specific plants requirement. The below information is only general guide.
These rates are safe for most home gardens:
1️⃣ Soil Drench / Watering Can Application
Best for veggies, herbs, flowers, seedlings and new transplants.
Mix:
👉 5 grams (1 teaspoon) per 5 litres of water
Use:
Water around the base of the plant.
Apply every 2–3 weeks during early growth or flowering.
2️⃣ Foliar Spray (Fast Correction of P Deficiency)
Sprays phosphorus directly onto leaves for rapid uptake.
Mix:
👉 2 grams per 1 litre of water
(½ teaspoon per litre — do NOT exceed.)
Use:
Spray lightly on foliage in early morning or late afternoon.
Repeat every 2–3 weeks if needed.
3️⃣ Seedlings & Transplants (Root Booster)
MAP is excellent for young plants.
Mix:
👉 1–2 grams per 1 litre of water
Use:
Water seedlings or new transplants once per week for 2 weeks, then switch to your normal fertiliser routine.
4️⃣ Fruit Trees (Young Trees or Early Season Growth)
Mix:
👉 10 grams (approx. 2 teaspoons) per 10 litres of water
Use:
Water around the drip line of the tree.
Repeat monthly during early season growth.
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTES
-
Do not mix MAP with calcium fertilisers (e.g., Cal-Nitrate) in the same container — they can react and form residue.
-
Use clean water and mix until fully dissolved.
-
Store MAP in a dry, sealed container — it absorbs moisture easily.
-
Avoid overuse: MAP is strong; more is not better.
📦 HOW FAR WILL 500 g GO?
A 500 g bag makes approximately:
-
500 L of foliar spray (at 1 g/L)
-
250 L of soil drench (at 2 g/L)
-
100 L of strong feed (at 5 g/5 L)
This is enough for many weeks of feeding in a medium-sized home garden.
